Why I chose to study here?
I’ve known people from my previous community college who have transferred to North Central College, and they have all said great things. Before I made the decision to come to North Central College, I was able to talk to them in person to ask them for some advice. I noticed that they all shared some things in common. They are hard workers, self-motivated and very involved with school organizations. It struck me that this is the kind of college where I can fit in and excel, so I was thrilled to make the decision to come to North Central College. I would like to go to school where my professors know me by my first name, and where my abilities are appreciated so I can challenge myself to grow and learn more.
Great program for international students
North Central College has a very diverse international student program. One of the best things about studying abroad is that I get the chance to make new friends for a lifetime. I got the opportunity to learn about different cultures and tradition. I found that I have a better understanding and appreciation for different country’s people and history. Since many of my fellow international students who choose to study abroad, just like me, are leaving our home for the first time, when we arrive in America, we are fascinated by the distinct culture. We experience culture shock and language barrier, but the international office has different events to help us get through all of this and make sure we have the best study abroad experience. The staff at the international office would constantly check in with us to make sure we are doing o.k. They are very caring and loving. They are my family away from home.
