Kreger’s Brat and Sausage Haus

Naperville is home to many small businesses, including one that dates back to 1893. Kreger’s Brat and Sausage Haus was started by Bill Kreger’s great grandfather, John Valentine. Bill Kreger is the fourth generation owner, who took over the family business in 1995. The store was originally a grocery store and meat market off of Washington, but in 1926 it was relocated to its current home, transforming into a sausage shop and a hearty lunch spot. “Our niche has always been fresh meats, and our sausage or bratwursts, so it just made perfect sense that this is what we were gonna do to streamline it,” explains Kreger. If you're picturing Kreger's as a mom-and-pop meat shop, you're spot on. An essence of a Napervillian small business, this store promises a feeling (and plenty of tastes) just like home.
